What goes wrong without it
- A time-limited permission expires mid-assignment. The worker is still on site, the client still has them booked, and nobody is watching the date.
- The check was done properly and the evidence is somewhere — but producing it takes a day, and an inspector asked for it in the meeting.
- The spreadsheet tracking expiry dates is maintained by one person, and it is accurate until the fortnight they are on leave.
- Nobody can say who carried out a given check, so the question of whether it was done correctly has no one to ask.
